There are many reasons we prep. Most of us feel that our way of life is not going to continue for much longer and things aren’t going to be so easy. Something as small as a power outage can instantly bring us back an entire century. But what happens if it not just a small power outage? What happens if its the Big SHTF event? Where can we turn for what to do?
The simple answer is our past. Our country is relatively young in comparison to others. It wasn’t all that long ago we didn’t have electricity. You don’t have to go too much farther back to have no running water either. Pausing to look back can be a really good thing providing you focus on the correct thing.
Most of our grandparents had skills that are all but gone today. Skills that were important 2 generations ago are no longer relevant today in this portion of the world. So what skills did our grandparents grandparents have that were no longer relevant? How far back do we need to look? Maybe we should start in the beginning.
The video below looks at a 17th century town. It looks at life right off of the Mayflower. I have to say there is a wealth of knowledge to be gained just by taking a quick peak back in time. Looking back might just help prepare you for what lies ahead…
