Cat parasite makes people psychotic

(NaturalNews) A new study, conducted by researchers from the Centre for Evolutionary and Functional Ecology in Montpellier, France, and published in the journal Current Biology, adds to the evidence that a parasite transmitted by domestic cats may cause psychiatric illness and instability in human beings.

The parasite in question, Toxoplasma gondii, has a complex life cycle. The organism can only reproduce if it infects the body of a feline, such as a house cat or leopard. There is no direct route of transmission for T. gondii from one feline to another, however. Instead, the parasite is shed in feline feces, from where it infects other animals. This infection is known as toxoplasmosis.

Long evolutionary history with primates

To date, research has focused on the parasite's infection of rodents. Scientists have conclusively shown that toxoplasmosis causes rodents to lose their fear of cats. This makes them more likely to be eaten, thus moving the parasite to a new feline host, where it can reproduce.

The new study shows for the first time that toxoplasmosis can also change the behavior of chimpanzees, our closest genetic relatives. Researchers exposed both toxoplasmosis-infected and non-infected captive chimpanzees to the urine of various big cats. They found that infected chimpanzees were three times more likely to investigate leopard urine, which chimpanzees normally find repulsive.

"It has been shown ... that T. gondii can induce behavioural change in parasitized rodents, making them more attracted to cat urine, thus benefiting parasite transmission," lead author Clemence Poirotte said.

"For the first time, we've shown that such parasite manipulation occurs in a primate, in a very specific way. We found that in our closest relative, the chimpanzee, Toxoplasma-infected animals lost their innate aversion towards leopard urine, their only natural predator."

Notably, infected chimpanzees did not become any more likely to approach the urine of lions or tigers. This suggests that T. gondii has co-evolved with chimpanzees over enough time to cause precise changes in their brain function that make them more likely to be eaten by leopards.

This lends support to the hypothesis that T. gondii may also cause targeted behavior changes in humans – rather than, for example, accidental changes that are simply side effects of the changes it causes to rodents.

"Our study rather supports the hypothesis that manipulative abilities of T. gondii have evolved in the human lineage when our ancestors were still under feline predation," Poirotte said. "Behavioural modifications in humans could thus be an ancestral legacy of our evolutionary past."

Forms cysts in human brain

The findings are being interpreted as support for an increasingly compelling hypothesis that toxoplasmosis may cause psychiatric disturbances in human beings. Several studies have shown that people with toxoplasmosis have slower reaction times, are more likely to take risks, and have higher rates of self-harming, suicide and even schizophrenia.

T. gondii is known to form cysts in the amygdala of the human brain, a region involved in regulating fear.

"Latent toxoplasmosis was commonly assumed to be asymptomatic in humans, except in pregnant women," Poirotte said. "Recent studies have shown that it could represent a risk factor for some mental disease such as schizophrenia, but more studies are needed to understand all the impacts on human health."

Toxoplasmosis infection is incredibly widespread among humans, with an estimated 60 million people infected in the United States alone. Infection occurs after exposure to cat litter, either through pet cats or contaminated food.

Toxoplasmosis is highly dangerous for pregnant women or people with compromised immune systems. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) consider it one of the leading causes of death from foodborne illness, and have named it a "neglected parasitic infection," targeted for special attention.

Careless hospital procedures could be spreading Alzheimer's to patients

(NaturalNews) Last September, the world of medicine shook their heads in firm disagreement at the study published by U.K. researchers that stated that Alzheimer's disease can be caused by certain medical procedures. Nothing like this had been done or proven in a serious study before and, so far, researchers and doctors have been accustomed to Alzheimer's being inherited, familial or even sporadic, but never acquired.

Even though the study was among the first advancing this hypothesis, and its findings still had to be corroborated by other studies, people immediately became concerned. In an attempt to settle the public worry about an outbreak, the U.K. Government's Chief Medical Officer officially declared at the time that there was no evidence that Alzheimer's could be transmitted in humans, particularly through a medical procedure.

Now, there IS evidence

The original, ground-breaking research concluded that a small group of people who were injected with human growth hormone when they were young and died from the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), had the amyloid-beta (A-beta) protein in their brains. There is no dispute concerning the function of the A-beta protein, which is considered to be a trigger for Alzheimer's disease. These proteins form plaques on the surface of the brain, which are responsible for impairing brain function and highly likely to cause Alzheimer's.

What was disturbing and really prompted agitation in the medical community, was the fact that the patients had died between the ages of 28 and 63. This unexpectedly young age, coupled with the medical procedure they all underwent, as well as the moderate to severe amounts of amyloid-beta found in their brains could not be swept under the carpet.

As it turns out, the study's findings have since been verified by two other reputable institutions. These confirmed that traditional medicine may yet have another side effect in store for us: dementia. The new study that corroborates the initial findings was published in the Swiss Medical journal. This time, researchers tried a different approach in an attempt to determine whether the initial hypothesis was verifiable.

From growth hormone to tissue grafts

The latest study also involved patients who died from CJD, since the latter can be transmitted during operations that involve grafting nerve tissue from cadavers. However, the focus was switched from human growth hormone to patients who received various amounts of dura mater or brain membrane.

The study also involved 21 control subjects who had died of CJD, but hadn't received any grafts. This allowed for a comparative and more objective analysis of the seven targeted patients who were subjected to the procedure.

The good news is that none of the seven patients had Alzheimer's when they died. The bad news is that they all manifested significantly higher amounts of the A-beta protein than is normal in their age group, meaning that the disease had high chances of developing.

How amyloid-beta can be transmitted

In all seven of the patients, other causes for high amounts of A-beta protein have been eliminated, leaving very little room for doubt. A-beta protein was transmitted during the grafting procedure. While the procedure itself was banned almost 40 years ago, the transmission can still happen inadvertently.

The seeds of amyloid-beta can adhere to metal surfaces, such as surgical instruments. They also have a proven resistance to conventional sterilization processes used in hospitals, as well as formaldehyde inactivation. Consequently, it may happen that when a patient undergoes brain surgery or similar procedures, the seeds of A-beta from the instruments are transmitted.

While some believe this is very unlikely, the fact that amyloid-beta is transmissible cannot be ignored any longer. What about those cases of Alzheimer's that are allegedly sporadic? Isn't it likely that some developed via contaminated surgical instruments or medical products? More research and fewer excuses are needed on the part of medical institutions.

Zika HOAX exposed by South American doctors: Brain deformations caused by larvicide chemical linked to Monsanto; GM mosquitoes a 'total failure'

(NaturalNews) Despite all the public hoopla, all the cases of microcephaly being discovered in Brazil have never been scientifically linked to the Zika virus. A group of doctors from South America are now saying the brain deformations the world is witnessing are caused by the mass fumigation of low-income Brazilian people with a chemical larvicide, not by mosquitoes carrying the Zika virus.

What we're seeing with the brain deformations of children, in other words, is more like the history of thalidomide, a prescription medicine given to pregnant women that caused children to be born with limbs missing. But the official narrative on all this is pushing a false link with Zika in order to justify more chemical fumigation, more vaccines and more genetically engineered mosquitoes.

A dramatic increase of congenital malformations, especially microcephaly in newborns, was detected and quickly linked to the Zika virus by the Brazilian Ministry of Health. However, they fail to recognise that in the area where most sick persons live, a chemical larvicide producing malformations in mosquitoes has been applied for 18 months, and that this poison (pyroproxyfen) is applied by the State on drinking water used by the affected population.

It looks like the world's health authorities are using Zika virus mosquitoes as a cover story to conceal the damage caused by toxic chemicals manufactured by powerful globalist corporations.

The larvicide sprayed in Brazil, for example, is called "pyriproxyfen," and it's manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical, a corporation known to be a "strategic partner" of Monsanto. The Argentinian doctors' report lists Sumitomo as a "subsidiary" of Monsanto. As GM Watch reports, "Pyriproxyfen is a growth inhibitor of mosquito larvae, which alters the development process from larva to pupa to adult, thus generating malformations in developing mosquitoes and killing or disabling them."

Hmmm... a growth inhibitor of developing organisms? Does that raise any question marks with anyone when considering the under-developed cranial and neurological systems of the children being victimized in all this?

Malformations detected in thousands of children from pregnant women living in areas where the Brazilian state added pyriproxyfen to drinking water is not a coincidence, even though the Ministry of Health places a direct blame on Zika virus for this damage, while trying to ignore its responsibility and ruling out the hypothesis of direct and cumulative chemical damage caused by years of endocrine and immunological disruption of the affected population. Doctors from the Brazilian Association for Collective Health (ABRASCO) demand that urgent epidemiological studies taking into account this causal link be carried out, especially when among 3,893 cases of malformations confirmed until January 20, 2016, 49 children have died and only five of them were confirmed to have been infected with Zika.

Zika virus doesn't cause microcephaly!

As reported by the Argentinian doctors in their report, Zika virus has never been known to cause brain deformations in children:

Previous Zika epidemics did not cause birth defects in newborns, despite infecting 75% of the population in those countries. Also, in other countries such as Colombia there are no records of microcephaly; however, there are plenty of Zika cases.

The entire reason these brain deformations are being blamed on the Zika virus, we're now learning, is so that powerful chemical companies can sell more toxic chemicals that poison the people and the environment even more! From the doctors' report:

Brazilian doctors (Abrasco) are claiming that the strategy of chemical control is contaminating the environment as well as people, that it is not decreasing the amount of mosquitoes, and that this strategy is in fact a commercial manoeuvre from the chemical poisons industry, deeply integrated into Latin American ministries of health as well as WHO and PAHO.

It's a vicious cycle, of course: The government sprays chemicals that cause brain deformations in children, but in order to avoid blaming the chemicals, they blame mosquitoes, thereby demanding MORE toxic chemicals be sprayed, causing yet more deformations that demand yet more chemicals and so on.

If all this sounds familiar, it's because it's ripped right out of the playbook of the vaccine industry: Many vaccines actually cause epidemics (which is why children who are stricken with measles and mumps have almost always been previously vaccinated against measles and mumps), thereby increasing public demand for more vaccines which cause more outbreaks, ad infinitum.

It's the perfect business model: When your product causes an epidemic of disease or birth defects, just find something else to blame and then pay off all the government health authorities to demand more of your product! After all, even the CDC loves these pandemics because it gives them an opportunity to exhibit more "authority" and push for more vaccines.

Genetically engineered mosquitoes aren't working either

When bad science and dangerous chemicals are already destroying people's lives, the solution must be MORE bad science, right?

Enter genetically engineered mosquitoes. According to all the criminally insane GMO pushers, GM mosquitoes are the instant answer to mosquito-borne diseases (and nothing can ever go wrong, we're assured).

The problem is that they're criminally insane and scientifically illiterate to boot. That's why the GM mosquitoes aren't working. "The last strategy deployed in Brazil, and which might be replicated in all our countries, is the use of GM mosquitoes -- a total failure, except for the company supplying mosquitoes," say the Argentinian doctors.

The English company Oxitec sells male GM mosquitoes, supposedly in order to decrease the Aedes population. A lethal gene is inserted in those mosquitoes, which is transmitted to the offspring, causing death to larvae if it is not blocked by an antibiotic (tetracycline).

Currently in Brazil nearly 15 million GM mosquitoes have been released, and the failure is complete. Where field tests were carried out, less than 15% of larvae were transgenic, that is to say... wild females are not accepting the English mosquito from Oxitec. The response: increasing the release in poor areas. Also, we must take into account that the biology of the disease shows that the female only "stings" when it's pregnant and generating eggs after being fertilised by a male; it does it in that state and only then, because it needs blood components in order to develop the eggs. So, if millions of male mosquitoes are released, there will be many more fertilised females looking to suck the blood of mammals, thus increasing the spreading of the disease from infected people to healthy people!

Migrants bringing infectious diseases back to Europe: tuberculosis, diptheria and more

But a massive new influx of migrants and refugees from third-world countries in the war-torn Middle East and North Africa are reigniting outbreaks of contagious diseases that had been long eradicated from the continent.

As reported by RT.com, unvaccinated migrants have brought diphtheria to Denmark, stunning health officials and leaving the government scrambling to contain the outbreak.

"The infection can be very dangerous if one isn't vaccinated against it. The dangerous type is very rare and we last saw it in Denmark in 1998," Kurt Fuursted, spokesperson for the Danish State Serum Institute (SSI) told Metroxpress in reference to the likely return of the disease, which was last seen in the country 20 years ago.

"There is no doubt that infectious diseases are coming in with the refugees that we aren't used to. There have been discussions on whether all refugees who come to Denmark should be screened," Fuursted added.

"Tighten the screws"

"Refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants should be vaccinated without unnecessary delay according to the immunization schedule of the country in which they intend to stay for more than a week," says a joint WHO-UNHCR-UNICEF guidance on general principles regarding vaccination of refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants in Europe, RT.com noted. Despite this recommendation, and the fact that the German government pushes vaccines for the children of its native citizens, refugees are being allowed into the country without receiving any vaccinations.

Published on Nov. 23, the guidance further urges nations to provide refugees and migrants with access to a "full vaccination schedule."

The immigration officials and the Danish Health and Medicines Authority, a supreme healthcare authority in Denmark, are expected to review screening policy, according to Health Minister Sophie Lunde.

In recent months, Denmark has begun to tighten the screws in an effort to curb the refugee influx. [The] Danish Parliament [voted recently] on a bill proposing to strip refugees of valuables, including cash and jewelry, to cover the costs the country bears in connection with their stay. It would allow authorities to claim individual items valued at more than 10,000 kroner (US$1,450).

In Danish communities of Thisted, Sonderborg and Haderslev, local nightclub owners have begun to introduce "language controls" – that is, they are turning away anyone who does not speak Danish, German or English.

According to Denmark's immigration agency, about 18,000 refugees and migrants were looking for asylum last year – far from the 163,000 seeking asylum in neighboring Sweden.

Some see similar problems coming to the U.S. under the Obama White House's generous refugee resettlement and immigration programs.

Diseased migrants already in the U.S.

Utah fears thousands infected in hepatitis C outbreak after exposure to hospital nurse

More than 7,000 patients at a Utah hospital were potentially exposed to an “outbreak” of hepatitis C after coming into contact with an infected former nurse – but less than half have come in for free testing to find out if they have the disease.

“We do consider this an outbreak,” Angela Dunn, a physician with the Utah Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told the Standard Examiner. “When we have two or more hepatitis C-related infections, we consider it an outbreak.”

Only 35 percent of the 7,200 patients contacted to receive free testing have come forward so far, FOX13 reported.

“We’re hoping for about half at the end of the day, but we only have a few weeks left of free testing,” Dunn said.

Several people have already tested positive for the disease; however, the final tally of those infected isn’t expected to be released until February or March.

“When we have two or more hepatitis C-related infections, we consider it an outbreak."

Mckay-Dee Hospital, in Ogden, and Davis Hospital, in Layton, are offering free testing through the end of January. Those are the hospitals that previously employed 49-year-old nurse Elet Neilson, who contracted a rare strain of the disease, genome 2b. Both that strain and a different variation of hepatitis C have been identified through testing, according to the Standard Examiner. Exposure to the disease is thought to have occurred between June 17, 2013 and Nov. 25, 2014, according to FOX13.

Neilson was fired for reportedly using medications illegally and eventually pleaded to a misdemeanor for possession of a controlled substance, paying a $413 fine and serving no jail time.

Dunn told KUTV the current outbreak was the first one ever reported for hepatitis C in Utah, though a similar outbreak occurred in Denver in 2009. In that instance a nurse who was stealing drugs replaced them with used syringes filled with saline.

Dunn said it was important for everyone contacted to be tested because symptoms of hepatitis C can lay dormant for decades.

“People can have no symptoms for decades and then all of the sudden their liver will start failing and that’s a deadly part of the disease,” Dunn said. “So it’s important to be identified early in the disease court when people don’t have symptoms so they can get effective treatment.”

White House: Doctors, Social Security to enforce gun control by Bill Wilson

The "president" is about to crack down on guns through an executive order that uses the Social Security Administration and socialist healthcare as spy agencies on gun owners. In a call with reporters Monday, the White House said the executive order will require those who privately sell "one or two" guns in a year to obtain a Federal Firearms License. The Washington Free Beacon reports White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett said, "Numbers are relevant. The ATF and DOJ did not identify a magic number of weapons that makes you engaged in the business because that would limit their ability to bring prosecution." In other words, sell a gun and you are an ATF target for prosecution.

Moreover, Jarrett announced the "president" would "require the Social Security Administration to begin the rule-making process for prohibiting certain Social Security recipients from legally obtaining guns, a move that could bar millions from legally owning firearms." Jarrett said that the executive order will also increase the number of ATF agents and make the background check system operate "around the clock." This insidious executive order establishes an institutionalized spy system on law abiding citizens who may own guns. It is a back door for a Social Security Administration to impose the political agenda of politicians on citizens by using the unequivocal authority of government. This is tyranny.

But wait. There's more. The socialist healthcare system is officially becoming a spy agency on US citizens, leveraging government authority to impose its political will on such matters as gun control. To be published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, the White House has issued a new rule, 45 CFR Part 164: "The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS or "the Department") is issuing this final rule to modify the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy Rule to expressly permit certain HIPAA covered entities to disclose to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) the identities of individuals who are subject to a Federal "mental health prohibitor" that disqualifies them from shipping, transporting, possessing, or receiving a firearm."

So now your doctor, who is supposed to have a trusted relationship with you, will be required to ask whether you own a gun. If you say "yes," he can turn you in to the FBI as mentally ill. This Administration has used the IRS to advance its political agenda against conservative non-profits. Now it is using Social Security and medical doctors to do the same. Ask yourself: Gun control today, Christianity tomorrow? This is the slippery slope to absolute tyranny. Proverbs 29:2 says, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn." In America, we have a choice of our leaders. We have not exercised that choice wisely. It is past time to do so. We must awaken.

Fukushima radiation causes debilitating deformities in US Navy sailors

(NaturalNews) U.S. Navy sailors and Marines dispatched to provide aid to Japan following the massive earthquake and tsunami in 2011 are now suffering a variety of rare and undiagnosed health problems, including many involving horrifying and visible changes to their bodies.

After the tsunami, the U.S. Navy's 7th Fleet, led by the USS Ronald Reagan, was diverted to the coast of Japan to provide relief work. The soldiers were not told that the disaster had triggered multiple meltdowns at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, or that a radioactive plume was spreading across the Pacific Ocean.

Aviation Bosun's Mate Dagan Honda and Aviation Structural Mechanic Ron Wright say they spent all day nearly every day of the mission on the deck of the Reagan, loading supplies. For roughly the first week of the mission, the sailors were given no radiation protection.

"So these sailors literally were marinating in radioactive particles," said Attorney Charles Bonner, who is representing more than 200 sailors and Marines in a class action lawsuit against Fukushima operator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) and several other defendants.

A litany of health problems

According to Bonner, the plaintiffs have suffered a litany of health problems including cancer, tumors, brain defects, birth defects, early death and a wide variety of undiagnosed conditions. These are "very serious illnesses for a very large population of very young people," he said.

Honda is one of the plaintiffs. Shortly after the mission, he began to suffer from unexplained fatigue and regular migraines, and a doctor told him his discs were rapidly degenerating.

Within a month of the mission's end, Wright began to experience a painful swelling in his groin. His testicles swelled to the size of tennis balls while he was still on the ship.

"When I asked if it might have something to do with the radiation from Fukushima, a doctor told me pretty gruffly no," Wright said.

According to a study published in the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism in 2011, endocrine damage is a well established side effect from the Fukushima disaster: "All the endocrine glands are susceptible to damage by radiation exposure; however, pituitary, thyroid and gonads are most likely to be affected."

Other health complaints from plaintiffs include arms that swelled up like baseball mitts, cardiac arrhythmia, hair falling out in clumps, muscle wasting, whole body spasms, and feet that turned dark red and lost the ability to walk.

Seeking justice in court

According to Bonnor, TEPCO should be liable for the sailors' injuries because the company deliberately downplayed the risks from the Fukushima meltdown, trying to make it out as less than the nuclear emergency it was.

"They lied to the world and told the world that there was no meltdown, that everything was under control," Bonner said.

As defendants, the lawsuit names TEPCO and other companies that had a hand in building or operating the Fukushima plant, including Toshiba, Hitachi, Ebasco and General Electric. It does not name the Navy or the U.S. Department of Defense. According to a 1950's U.S. Supreme Court ruling known as the Feres Doctrine, it is not legal for soldiers to sue the government for any injury arising from their military service.

Even though it cannot be legally liable, the Defense Department seems to have been actively obstructing the sailors' quest for justice. A 2014 Defense Department report to Congress concluded that radiation doses experienced by the USS Ronald Reagan soldiers were "well below Federal regulatory limits," and that it is "implausible that these low-level doses are the cause of the health effects" since observed.

Defense Department doctors have also been notoriously unwilling to give diagnoses to the suffering sailors, perhaps for fear of what a diagnosis of radiation poisoning might mean.

The White House is preparing for catastrophic solar flares

If a giant solar flare hit the Earth, it could knock out the entire power grid, meaning no more new Justin Bieber singles, no more televised presidential debates, and no more Facebook photos of babies.

But it wouldn't be all good news. The Washington Post reports the electromagnetic pulse—or EMP—created by such an event could wipe out electricity for months on end, creating a global catastrophe.

That's why the White House released its National Space Weather Strategy on Thursday. According to the Houston Chronicle, the multiagency plan details how the US will prepare for—and deal with—a massive EMP from space weather.

The six-step plan requires government agencies, schools, the media, the insurance industry, nonprofits, and more to work together. In other words: We might be doomed. “This is a real and present danger," the White House's assistant director for space weather tells the Post. Back in 1859, a huge solar storm did impact Earth and caused some sparking telegraph lines. The National Academy of Sciences says something like that today could mean a $2 trillion economic hit. Something like that almost did happen in 2012, when NASA says we were nearly hit by two large plasma clouds. "If it had hit, we would still be picking up the pieces," one physicist says. The White House's new plan calls for the US to get better at predicting space weather, shore up our infrastructure against EMPs, and more, the Chronicle reports. It's a plan we may truly need: The Post quotes NASA as stating there's a 12% chance of a giant solar flare in the next 10 years. (Escape doomsday in a luxury missile silo.)
